I stared out the window and remember, " hey, it's my day off " ! A pleasant surprise indeed. Sadly, I am still faced with the fact Sydney is STILL experiencing it's many days of rain rain and more rain. So instead of the planned 5km+farklek+5km around the bay, I locked on another back up plan.
I manage to sneak in another 30 minutes of Zeeees but soon stumbled out into the dark with the usual morning routine - Bathroom -> Kettle on ->Change -> Sustagen-> (zzzzzzz) -> Shoes ->Garmin -> Door.
Only this time, I picked up my car keys and drove to the office's gym instead. Eversince I joined fairfax, the $2-a-day gym has been a god sent.
I love doing pyramids on a track but equally, a pyramid treadmill workout certainly beats being drenched before you hit 1km in the open. Began with a 5km warm up at a slow and controlled 30minutes. And I went about my threadmill session.
Set 1: 4mins at easy pace - 5.15mins (then recovery jog 5.45mins for 2 minutes)
Set 2: 4mins at steady state pace - 4.55mins (then recovery jog 5.45mins for 2 minutes)
Set 3: 4mins at tempo run pace - 4.15mins (then recovery jog 5.45mins for 2 minutes)
Set 4: 4mins at tempo pace - 3:50mins (then recovery jog 5.45mins for 2 minutes)
Set 5: 4mins at easy pace - 5.30mins (then recovery jog 5.45mins for 2 minutes)
I managed to do only half of the second rep as it took quite awhile to do one set.
Honestly, I rather be out there pounding the tarmac.
A lovely afternoon with Helen. It's a blessing that with her winding down to working only 3 days a week, we were able to spend more quality time with each other

. It was so easy for us to choose a movie where we would have spent 2 plus hours sitting mindlessly watching 'Man of Steel'. Instead, we went about a link Helen found and explore quite a few of these places...
Yum...Black sesame ice-cream.
